The laureates

Eva Helena Arielle AMEGBOH is an Ivorian expert in the prevention and response to gender-based violence, with more than ten years of international experience and on-the-ground work in West Africa.

En tant que Coordinatrice du Collectif des Activistes de Côte d’Ivoire, elle structure et mobilise la société civile autour de la prévention des violences, de la santé sexuelle et reproductive et de la protection des survivantes. Elle joue un rôle central dans le renforcement du plaidoyer national et la coordination d’acteurs engagés pour transformer durablement les normes sociales liées au genre.

Drawing on her extensive field experience, she specializes in trauma and the psychosocial recovery of survivors, integrating mental health, social justice, and women’s rights.

Trained in the United Nations standards on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), she combines her work in the field with an in-depth understanding of international protection standards.

As the founder of the Helenam Knowledge Center in Abidjan, Eva has created a hybrid space dedicated to knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the psychosocial recovery of survivors.

Through support groups, awareness campaigns, the involvement of partner psychologists, and innovative approaches, she works to sustainably integrate mental health into community practices and public policies aimed at combating violence against women. She has collaborated with several national and international organizations, including UNFPA, CFI—the French Media Development Agency—and Equipop, on evaluation, analysis, and knowledge-sharing projects that incorporate a gender perspective.

Her commitment is rooted in a deep conviction: social justice and individual healing are inseparable. She works to build frameworks in which survivors are no longer defined by the violence they have endured, but by their ability to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
