Description
Vanja Pavlović is a criminal lawyer and human rights defender from Bosnia-Herzegovina. As part of her professional activities, she is particularly dedicated to: (1) protecting women against domestic violence, sexual and gender-based violence and sexual harassment; (2) defending the rights and members of the LGBTQ+ community; (3) protecting journalists and the right to freedom of expression. It ensures the protection of these vulnerable groups in a number of ways: by representing victims on a pro bono basis, by filing discrimination lawsuits and representing plaintiffs, by representing and defending journalists in defamation cases, by collaborating with non-governmental organizations dedicated to the protection of human rights, by appealing to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the ECHR.
"Being a human rights defender: it's not just a choice, it's my identity."
